To understand this context, theoretical discussions were held about the interrelationship between the three cities in the Amazon region and data from the epidemiological bulletins of the respective health secretaries and the Monitora-COVID (FIOCRUZ, 2020) were used. The results show that the spread of the virus in Xambioá behaved similarly to that of the city of Araguaína, with a high incidence and higher peaks than those of the other two bigger cities. The results alert to the seriousness of the situation, since the municipality does not have health equipment capable of meeting the demand caused by the complexity of the cases, calling for a debate about the reorganizations of the cities with a focus on improving the quality of life and the good living for people and the community.
