CURRAIS E VACARIAS NA CIDADE (cow corrals and pens in the city)
Abstract
O texto apresenta alguns resultados da pesquisa Tempos lentos na cidade: permanências e transformações dos costumes rurais na cidade de João Pessoa-PB. Neste privilegia-se a análise dos subespaços rurais encontrados na cidade, mais exatamente os currais e as vacarias. A investigação compreendeu o mapeamento desses espaços na malha urbana, a descrição e a caracterização da sua disposição interna e ainda a análise dos costumes, da produção e da comercialização do “leite in natura”. com esses registros foram esclarecidas a permanência e a transformação dos costumes rurais na cidade. Tanto a leitura bibliográfica como a coleta de informações em jornais e nas instituições estatísticas e de pesquisa foram fundamentais para resgatar o processo de distribuição do leite e o momento de maior pressão sobre os seus produtores nas cidades brasileiras. Além disso, a pesquisa faz uso do trabalho de campo, obtendo dados através de entrevistas e de depoimentos. Tais procedimentos metodológicos permitiram compreender as permanências e as transformações dos currais e das vacarias na cidade de João Pessoa-PB.

ABSTRACT
The text presents some results of the research Slow times in the city: permanence and changes of rural customs in the city of João Pessoa-Pb.It focuses on the analysis of rural sub-spaces found in the city, specially in corrals and cowsheds.The investigation comprised the mapping of those spaces in the urban network, the internal arrangement and the analysis of customs, production and marketing of “in natura” milk. With these records, the permanence and changes in the city were clarified. Both the bibliographical reading and the information collection in newspapers and in research and statistical institutions were fundamental to recover the process of milk distribution and the moment of greater pressure on the producers in the Brazilian cities. Besides, the research uses the field-work, obtaining data through interviews and testimonies. Such methodological procedures permitted to understand the permanence and changes of corrals and cowsheds in the city of João Pessoa-Pb.
