Abstract
Analisa as formas de apropriação do território pelo agronegócio e a resistência do campesinato no Maranhão, abordando, para isso, o avanço da cultura da soja nesse Estado, bem como o modelo de desenvolvimento por este escolhido, além da espacialização dos conflitos, no período de 1997 a 2007.

ABSTRACT
Examines the ways of appropriations of the territory for agribusiness and the resistance of the peasantry in the Maranhão, addressing, for this, the advancement of the soybean crop in this State, and the development model chosen, beyond spatialization of conflicts, in the period 1997 to 2007.
