LUTA PELA AUTONOMIA E PELO TERRITÓRIO: Geografia e os Estados alemão e francês na virada do séc. XIX ao séc. XX (the struggle for scientific autonomy and territorial control: geography and the French and German States in the wake of the 20th century)
Abstract
Este artigo visa discutir os componentes históricos e sociais que, envolvendo a França e a Alemanha na virada do século XIX para o século XX, fizeram emergir a Geografia como disciplina universitária. Nesse sentido, tópicos como a Guerra franco-prussiana, o Imperialismo e o Nacionalismo merecem destaque. Em termos metodológicos, o objetivo é o de abordar o pensamento geográfico como uma construção epistemológica atravessada pela historicidade e pela política.

RÉSUMÉ
Cet article veut discuter les éléments historiques et sociales qui ont fait l'émergence de la Géographie comme discipline universitaire en Allemagne et en France. Dans ce cas, la guerre franco-prussienne, l'Imperialisme et le nationalisme sont fondamentales. Sur le plan méthodologique, l'objectif c'est aborder la pensée géographique comme une construction épistémologique traversée par l'historicité et par la politique

ABSTRACT
This paper discusses the social and historical components involving France and Germany at the end of XIX century and the begin of XX century about the emergency of the Geography as university discipline. In this sense, topics like Franco-Prussian’s war, Imperialism and Nationalism are essentials. In methodological terms, the objective is underline the geographic thought as an epistemological construction crossed by history and politics.
