MEMÓRIA, SÍMBOLOS E REPRESENTAÇÕES NA CONFIGURAÇÃO SOCIOESPACIAL DO SERTÃO DA RESSACA – BAHIA (memory, symbols and representations in the configuration of the social space in the undertow backwoods - Ba)
Abstract
O Sertão da Ressaca é uma denominação que se faz presente nos documentos que abordam o processo de ocupação e povoamento do interior da Bahia, compreendendo genericamente, uma área de transição geográfica entre o litoral e a caatinga estruturada em torno do atual município de Vitória de Conquista - Bahia. Esta denominação é uma referência espacial e simbólica constituída de múltiplas representações. Ao discutir os conceitos de território, lugar, memória e representações neste artigo busca-se compreender a configuração de representações acerca deste sertão, tendo como eixo condutor a inclusão e a exclusão socioespacial, as bases materiais e imateriais, as permanências e rupturas, as espacialidades e temporalidades que permitem a apreensão deste território/lugar sertão na memória e nas representações sociais daqueles que o vivenciaram/vivenciam. Entende-se que tanto a memória quanto as representações estão intrinsecamente associadas ao processo de produção socioespacial, assim, aproximação destes conceitos, especialmente na discussão do sertão, acena para a possibilidade de um diálogo interdisciplinar, mantendose, todavia, a peculiaridade do olhar geográfico.

Undertow Bacwoods is a denominations that it is present in the documents that deals with the process of occupation and housing in Bahia country cities, comprehending generically, an area of geographic transition between the coastline and undertow backwoods structured around Vitória da Conquista city. This denomination is a space and symbolic reference constituted of multiple representations. The aim of discussing the concepts of territory, place, memory and representations in this article is to search for understanding the configurations of this ackwoods, having the inclusion as the main leader axis, and the social space exclusion, the material and immaterial bases, the remaining, the broken, the spaces singularities and temporalities that allows the apprehension of this territory/place backwoods in the memory and social representations of those who lived/live it. It is understandable that the memory as much the representations are intrinsically related to the process of social space production, so, the approach of the mentioned concepts, specially in the discussion about the backwoods, points to the possibility of a interdisciplinary dialogue, keeping, however, the peculiarity of a geographic look.
