ESTUDO BIOGEOGRÁFICO DA ANACHARIS CANADENSIS NA AVALIAÇÃO DA QUALIDADE AMBIENTAL DO RIBEIRÃO CLARO NO MUNICÍPIO DE RIO CLARO – SÃO PAULO (Biogeographical survey on the Anacharis canadensis in the assessment of environmental quality of Ribeirão)
Abstract

ABSTRACT
In the last decades the environmental question has been mobilizing the geographical community, both for the academic inquiry development and for actions in the attempt of minimizing the problems resulting from the nature’s degradation. The ribeirão Claro river shows a mosaic of degradations originating from the perverse relation between the society and the hydro resources. The present study constitutes an attempt of valuing the environmental quality of this hydrotop, rested on a methodology with this backdrop the relevant facts to the horizontal fish distribution in this aquatic system. The envi-ronmental gauging quality of the ribeirão Claro river in the passage for the northern and oriental sectors of Rio Claro City was possible because there was utilized the Anacharis Canadensis action (pop.Elodea), as a biological indicator. The obtained results allowed the integrated hydro tops evaluation, according to the methodology proposal of inquired. The use of bio-indicators was considered viable like alternative and simplified technique besides his practicability and reduced costs for the inquiry realization.
