COSTUMES E USOS DA TERRA PELA POPULAÇÃO CABOCLA DO PLANALTO DE SANTA CATARINA (customs and uses of land by the cabocla population in Santa Catarina Highlands)
Abstract
No planalto de Santa Catarina se estabeleceu desde fins do século XVIII, uma significativa parcela de sitiantes, na maioria posseira, que viviam às margens dos latifúndios pastoris das áreas de campos. Sua fonte de renda básica se ligava a agricultura de subsistência e práticas ligadas à exploração de recursos em comum de campos e florestas. O acesso a estes recursos, da mesma forma que a posse da terra e a vida social, era regulado por práticas, normas e costumes, impossíveis de serem apreciadas somente pelo viés econômico, as quais eram transmitidas de geração a geração, onde a oralidade e o direito costumeiro exerciam uma importância fundamental. Isso vai se desestruturando, à medida que uma nova dinâmica sócio- espacial, ligada à economia capitalista vai se instaurando na região, como a colonização, a propriedade legal, o cercamento das terras e a devastação das florestas.Palavras-chave: Caboclos, Costumes, Uso comum da terra, Recursos naturais.
ABSTRACT
Besides the great proprietors, many mid dwellers inhabited the plateau of Santa Catarina. Who lived at the border of pastorals large estates and obtain their principal source of living upon subsistence agriculture and in practices connected to the exploitation of communal resources of the fields and forests. The access to those resources, as well as the possession of the land and the social life, which were transmitted from generation to generation in which orality and customary rights exerted fundamental importance, were regulated by practices, norms and habits, which were impossible to be examined only by economic means. This undergoes a process of destabilization, as a new socio-spatial dynamics connected with the capitalist economy starts to be established in the region, perceptible such as colonization, the legal property, the demarcation of the estates and the devastation of forests.

RESUMEN
Hacia finales del siglo XVIII se estableció, en la meseta del estado de Santa Catarina – Brasil –, una considerable población de pequeños y medianos productores, ubicados alrededor de las grandes estancias. Su renta provenía de la agricultura de subsistencia y de prácticas de explotación de los recursos comunes en los campos y los bosques. El acceso a estes recursos, bien como la tenencia de la tierra y la vida social, se regía por prácticas, normas y costumbres que se explicaban mas allá de las razones econômicas y transmitidas de padre a hijo, donde la palabra hablada y el derecho consuetudinario tenían fundamental importancia. Sin embargo, con el avance de las relaciones capitalistas en el campo, se generó una nueva dinámica socioespacial em la meseta, impuesta por la colonización, la propiedad privada, el cerramiento de la tierra y la deforestación de los bosques.
