IBN KALDUN, A DINÂMICA DOS ASSENTAMENTOS HUMANOS E AS FUNÇÕES URBANAS NO ISLÃ HISTÓRICO (Ibn Kaldun, the urban dynamics of the human nestings and functions in the historical Islam)
Abstract
O trabalho aborda experiências de construção do pensamento e seus artefatos na civilização do Islam. A circulação de idéias e técnicas geográficas entre centros culturais é examinada. Atenção é posta na idéia de funções urbanas e nas apreciações interpretativas gerais sobre as relações entre a sociedade, os assentamentos humanos e o meio geográfico na obra de Ibn Kaldun.

ABSTRACT
The present work focuses on experiences of the construction of geographical ideas and artifacts in the historic Islam. Attention is paid to the diffusion of geographic ideas and techniques among imperial cultural centers (cores). The analysis of urban functions and the general appreciations on the relationships between society, settlement and environment in Kaldun’s work are appreciated.
